The vets in EVE would love that you do the last and bring your newbie combat ships in space. Sure, you can go into combat right away and no doubt lose a bunch of ships and learn by trail and error, It's all up to you and how you want to play. I even bought copies of the same ships in my hangars just to fit them differently, cos I was to lazy to change fitting, luxury problems :P Result of this slow mining start and the lots of reading was that the 3 years after that I only lost a few ships and had my skill training setup very efficient and made way more Isk's then I could spend. The first couple of months I played EVE I was mostly mining and reading the help chat and reading all the descriptions of modules and ships and stuff till I felt confident enough to go into the combat aspect of EVE. Mining makes you a bit of Isk's while you can monitor what is going on around you and in the EVE universe and at the same time learn the mechanics of EVE. Mining is fine when you are new and inexperienced. My advice is to not listen 'to much' to advices of other people. Maybe i'll get Procurer at some point (since what else would i spend the money i make off mining at this point), maybe not, we'll probably focus on security missions for a while with a friend so we can raise our standing with whatever the corp is that we do jobs for. Well, i don't insist on anything really nor do i afk mine as i prefer to pay attention to my game (slow, sluggish and boring as mining might be) since should a ganker warp in, with few shield rigs and damage control module, maybe i can warp out before my ship goes kaboom. Don't be afraid to seek a new mining system if gankers appear too frequently. When ganked, simply grab another retriever and carry on (procurer when gankers are still in system). Continue to AFK mine, Procurers are much too difficult to kill to be worthwhile. When you do see a ganker hanging around, switch to your Procurer. Don't bother with tank, it won't save you when AFK mining. Find a quiet system, well off the beaten path and fit the retriever with nice cheap modules. Using the tanked t1 build is decent, right? Not as far as survivability is concerned. I'll take a look at soem sec agents, since friend wants to try those missions, who knows, maybe we can make enough headway in the coming weeks to get bumped up the ladder time or two, making mining a meh choice of creds in comparison. That would be a disservice to you.ĭecent source of income, as in 5ish mil ISK per haul, which is more than i can make via security missions at the moment since i have no level 2 agents (cept couple of distributions ones), so i ain't getting anything worthwhile from those, until the time i make my way upwards in the ladder of my chosen contact.Īnd yes, i know mining sucks, trust me, i am well aware of that but compared to my other options, it's my so called multi million meal ticket, boring ass ♥♥♥♥ as it might be. I really don't want to help you with barge setups at this point. Just another reaosn to avoid missions too. It's the faction standings that take long to build up.Īlso, missions will ruin your standings with your agents' enemy factions over time, and their NPC navies will shoot you when you travel to their space. Train the relevant social skills to level 3 or so and it's even quicker. But you have to pay a lot of attention and be ready to run.Īnd if you’re looking for an alt to hang with your Rorq or mining vessel, again you have to decide if it’s better to use, say, two Retrievers and just make more ISK and pay more attention, OR if you want to, say, fit out an ECM throwaway ship and if main ship gets in trouble, your ECM ship tries to break any locks or burst or whatever and give it a chance to get away.īut you won’t be able to ‘defend’ your miner from anything that comes, because they can just bring enough to kill both.Цитата допису Mordy:since i never ran missions enough to get access to higher level agents.Takes like an hour to work your way up to a level 3 agent with any NPC corporation that doesn't already hate you. The idea there is to make enough extra ISK from the higher ISK/hr that you can afford to replace the occasional loss due to ganking. In a Retriever or Mackinaw you’re likely making the most mining ISK/hr (due to large hold), so if you’re paying attention, checking local, staying aligned etc, you’ll make the most when you’re mining and you’ll usually escape before they can gank you. But you won’t make as much per hour, and in low sec you’ll still usually die no matter size of your tank. If you fit a Procurer or Skiff for strong tank in high sec, gankers will go elsewhere. There are a couple ways people look at this.
